Schedule & Commitment

  • 5 hours per week
  • Wednesdays, 2:30 PM — 6:30 PM
  • Additional 1 hour per week for planning and parent communication
  • Opportunity to expand hours beginning in the fall
  • Potential to design and lead a summer program for candidates with interest and capacity

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, community-minded Youth Program Facilitator to support and engage tweens and teens in a welcoming, inclusive environment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about youth development, “nerd culture,” and fostering meaningful connections within a community setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate weekly programming for tweens and teens for our Creative Teens Club
  • Communicate effectively with parents, volunteers, and fellow staff
  • Support a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment
  • Collaborate with management and report on program updates
  • Assist with planning and program development

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working with tweens and/or teens
  • Reliable transportation
  • Respectful, clear, and consistent communicator with both youth and adults.
  • Passion for community building and youth engagement
  • Interest in or enthusiasm for nerd culture
  • Commitment to supporting neurodivergent youth

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with makerspace tools (or willingness to learn quickly)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Experience working with neurodivergent tweens and teens

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Vision or ideas for developing a summer program
  • Experience with tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs)
  • Unique “nerdy” interests that could enrich programming
  • Interest in growing within a small organization over time
  • Self-awareness and reflective mindset
