Violence Prevention Outreach Worker

This position supports youth and gang violence prevention by engaging with at-risk youth, linking them to services, and providing resources to reduce gang involvement. Responsibilities include outreach, recruiting, advocating for social services, planning recreational activities, assessing needs, and making referrals. When assigned to reentry/workforce, duties involve providing reentry services, job coaching, resume help, and collaborating with partner agencies. Requires an associate’s degree, 1-3 years’ experience in social services or youth intervention, and a valid driver’s license. Skills include communication, community networking, record-keeping, and basic technical proficiency. The role involves community-based work, light physical activity, and no supervisory responsibilities. The work environment is community-focused, with an emphasis on engagement, documentation, and resource coordination.
