Vice President of Product Management

I. Position Overview

The Vice President of Product Management serves as the central leader for the company’s product strategy and product ecosystem, assuming comprehensive responsibility for product planning, product innovation, and product lifecycle management.

Leveraging deep insights into market trends and customer needs, this role drives the development of products from inception to scale-up. Furthermore, by collaborating closely with teams across Technology, Sales, and Marketing, the VP maximizes the commercial value of the products, thereby serving as a key engine for the company’s growth. II. Core Responsibilities

  1. Product Strategy & Roadmap Planning

Define the company’s overall product strategy and long-term direction.

Plan and develop the Product Roadmap.

Ensure product strategy aligns with the company’s business objectives.

Drive the optimization of the Product Portfolio.

  1. Product Lifecycle Management

Manage the entire product lifecycle—from concept, design, and development to launch and iteration.

Establish Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) mechanisms.

Drive continuous product optimization and upgrades.

Enhance product competitiveness and market fit.

  1. Market & User Insights

Conduct market analysis, competitor analysis, and user research.

Define target customers and product positioning.

Identify customer needs and pain points.

Guide the direction of product innovation.

  1. Product Commercialization & Revenue Growth

Formulate product pricing strategies.

Drive product commercialization and revenue growth.

Optimize product profitability (margins).

Support sales and marketing promotion efforts.

  1. Product Development & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate with R&D teams to drive product development.

Collaborate with design teams to enhance User Experience (UX/UI).

Collaborate with sales teams to improve product sales effectiveness.

Collaborate with marketing teams to drive product launches (Go-To-Market).

  1. Data-Driven Approach & Product Analytics

Establish a product data analytics framework (covering usage, retention, etc.).

Monitor key product metrics (DAU, MAU, conversion rates, etc.).

Leverage data to optimize product decision-making.

Foster a data-driven culture.

  1. Product Operations & User Growth

Optimize user acquisition, activation, and retention.

Enhance user engagement and satisfaction.

Drive user growth and product market penetration.

Establish product operations mechanisms.

  1. Product Tools & Systems

Champion the adoption of product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

Establish standards for requirements management and documentation.

Improve collaboration efficiency within the product team.

Support Agile development methodologies and iteration cycles.

III. Qualifications

  1. Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field.

MBA preferred.

  1. Work Experience

20 years of experience in product management.

10 years of experience in leading and managing product teams.

Experience in building products from “0 to 1” (inception) and scaling them up.

Experience in the SaaS, Internet, or Technology sectors is preferred.
