Job Summary:
The Vice President of Advancement advances the mission of Cristo Rey Boston High School (CRBHS) by guiding, supporting, evaluating, managing, and working in tandem with the Development Team, Business Development Team (CWS), and Communications.
The Vice President of Advancement is the Chief Fundraising Officer for the school, overseeing the department responsible for generating the majority of the school’s annual operating dollars as well as the funding required to build endowment, support special needs/programs and create capital improvements. He or she will identify and cultivate external partnerships and donors associated with the organization’s revenue targets and help launch the first capital campaign in CRB’s history, RISE.
They are a business partner and advisor to the President in developing and implementing strategies that achieve CRBHS’s overall institutional growth objectives and financial sustainability. The Vice President of Advancement will demonstrate a willingness to explore different pathways to corporate, charitable fund, and individual giving, identify opportunities for increasing revenue in the corporate sector, and increase cross-team collaboration with CWSP and Development.
Essential Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with the CWS and Communications team, create, evaluate, and implement a multi-year development strategy that encompasses initiatives and activities allowing for the achievement of all fundraising goals.
- Direct a comprehensive, data-driven fund development program to support the annual revenue budget, with an emphasis on major donor identification, research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Manage a robust and ongoing major donor and grants campaign and pipeline.
- Collaborate with and fully support the President in working with major donors.
- Support the work of the CWS Team in securing and retaining a diverse portfolio of business partners that participate in the Corporate Work-Study Program

Steward the CWS team’s effort to sell the work-study program by effectively communicating the mission/business case/ value proposition, answering questions, and overcoming objections. Assist in closing and signing contracts or funding agreements.

Strengthen current partnerships by providing a strategic vision for engagement events and marketing campaign

Cultivate and further develop professional relationships with Trustees, community leaders and senior corporate executives to maximize the relationship across both CWS and Development efforts and leverage the network of job partners to increase fundraising and advocacy for the school in the business and philanthropic communities.
- In collaboration with the president, serve as the chief representative to all community groups and create intentional relationships/partnerships with key organizations corresponding to the CRBHS strategic plan.
- Partner with the Leadership Team to improve the culture of intersection between Development, CWS, Communications, and all other departments at CRBHS to prevent the development of institutional silos.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in partnership development, fundraising, or related field, or in a field with transferrable skills (sales, for example)
- Proven record of accomplishment of successfully cultivating and managing partnerships, securing funding, and achieving revenue targets.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish productive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker who can develop and implement innovative strategies to advance organizational goals.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Cristo Rey Boston High School, with a passion for empowering students from underserved communities through education and opportunity.

Salary range: $100,000 – $130,000
