In this role, you’ll support Space Systems Verification and Test by hardening, deploying, and automating Special Test Equipment across factory and launch environments. Your work ensures test readiness, reliability, and security for programs where precision and uptime are essential.Role Summary As a Test & Evaluation Engineer (Infrastructure & Automated Tools), you’ll design, deploy, and modernize complex IT infrastructure that supports aerospace testing. You’ll collaborate across Product Security, Software, and IT to transform test environments, improve repeatability, and adopt modern automation and virtualization technologies-directly impacting test efficiency, data integrity, and mission success.Job Type: Full-Time, Consultant (12 Months)
Location: El Segundo, CA
Schedule: Monday-Friday | First Shift 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
(May support 2nd shift and/or weekends based on business needs)
Pay Rate Starting at : $46 – $64/ per hourMust be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.What You’ll Do Day to Day Collaborate with Product Security, Software, and IT teams to execute Infrastructure & Tools scopeDesign and manage complex IT infrastructure, including redundancy and disaster recoveryTransform and modernize Test IT Infrastructure and tools with virtualization and automationDeploy and configure servers, virtual machines, storage, and network/firewall environmentsAdminister VMware environments and perform upgradesManage and troubleshoot Layer 2/3 networking (switches, routers, firewalls)Support cloud services (AWS and Azure) and hybrid environmentsImplement best practices for server room operations and lab excellence initiativesDevelop engineering documentation and processes to improve repeatability and reduce wasteWork hands-on in lab environments with diverse test equipmentRequired Qualifications Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry from an accredited institution5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience managing large server environments (bare metal and virtual machines)Strong networking experience (Layer 2/3, switches, routers, firewalls)VMware administration and upgrade experienceExperience managing cloud services (AWS and Azure)Data backup management experienceStrong documentation, communication, and coordination skillsRegular and predictable attendancePreferred Qualifications Active or prior U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance with current Tier 5 (T5)Security certificationVMware certifications10 years of related experienceKnowledge of Agile methodologiesAutomation experience with Ansible, VMware Aria, or PowerCLIExperience in mixed Unix/Linux and Windows environments with NAS/SAN storageHybrid cloud experience5 years leading technical teamsWhy Join PDS Tech Commercial?At PDS Tech Commercial, we connect top engineering talent with high-impact roles on advanced aerospace and space programs.
