Pay: $23.00 per hour – $25.00 per hour

Summary The Support Specialist will be the first level of support for end-user applications, PC’s and handhelds. Applications include Vending Management, Accounting, Intranet, and Email. This position will field phone calls, handle or expedite support tickets submitted on the support portal and configure and maintain PCs, and handhelds. The Support Specialist will need a blend of customer empathy, computer and networking knowledge, a sense of urgency and tenacity to accomplish the goals of this position. The Support Specialist will need to be able to develop good working relationships with end-users in the Corporate Office and with users in the field via phone and email. The ability to provide leadership by example to end-users on acceptable use of company equipment is very important.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot common computer, software and handheld problems working independently as well as with IT team members.
  • Escalate complex problems to appropriate IT staff members as necessary
  • Configure and ship replacement PC’s, printers, peripherals and handhelds for deployment to Corporate Offices and client locations.
  • Respond to end-user problems and questions in a timely, concerned and professional manner
  • Communicate resolutions/solutions to end-user in a decisive yet tactful manner which instills confidence in end-user of the Support Specialists knowledge
  • Document issues and resolutions on the Support Portal as necessary
  • Develop end-user and IT training materials and documentation as requested
  • Track inventory of hardware issued and received using the support management software
  • Pack and ship equipment to remote locations
  • Install and configure supported applications
  • Deliver and install workstations to end users both in person and remotely as required.
  • Remove viruses and spyware from infected workstations
  • Participate in upgrade testing, execution and development of net change documentation for end-users
  • Setup user access to corporate software and Intranet applications by working with the Controller
  • Keep the Help Desk Manager informed of your progress and aware of any unusual situations or areas of concern

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of PC operating systems (Windows 11) and desktop applications (MS Office 365)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to form good working relationships with end-users and colleagues at all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Additional Desirable Skills: Knowledge of network protocols, A Certification
