Job Title Student Success Specialist Location Ft Worth TX Job Type Part Time non Exempt hourly Department Student Success Reports To Director of Student Success Date 10312025 Last Revision Standard of Christian Commitment The candidate must be a professing Christ follower who possesses a strong commitment to the mission and core values of Southwestern Seminary and Texas Baptist College possess a clear understanding of Southern Baptist heritage and culture and agrees to serve in accordance with and not contrary to the current edition of the Baptist Faith and Message Southwestern Seminary an entity of the Southern Baptist Convention is a confessional institution While the Seminary serves the larger evangelical Christian community employees must embrace the values and standards the Seminary represents as it fulfills its mission of shaping Christian leaders within our denominational context Since duties of this position require the employee to represent the Seminary to prospective and current students candidates must abide by the Seminary bylaws the Employee Handbook and the current edition of the Baptist Faith and Message as a condition of employment Job Description Job Summary The goal of a Student Success Specialist and DSO is to support Southwestern Seminary and Texas Baptist College students in and out of the classroom through retention tutoring workshops events student community building data management intervention and supporting the Student Success Office Key Responsibilities Provides direct support to students in navigating academic personal and institutional challenges Coordinates of student enrichment programs and workshops aimed at enhancing student engagement and success including but not limited to New Student Orientation workshops intervention programs training tutoring under oversight of the director Tracks gathers analyzes and interprets data related to student performance and engagement to inform programmatic decisions and improve student outcomes Aids in the execution of campus retention strategy and playbook will include making phone calls sending emails replying to student texts campus communication as needed retention based events additional support services etc Serves as a liaison between students and various campus services ensuring a coordinated approach to support and crisis intervention Maintains and updates orientation materials and manuals to reflect current institutional policies and procedures Serve as a Designated School Official DSO for F 1F 2 student visa compliance and other visa statuss as necessary Aids in a continued culture of prayer student focus and community building Demonstrates commitment to personal and professional growth in leadership and ministry effectiveness Handles sensitive and confidential information with discretion Performs other related duties as assigned and specific to area of responsibility Qualifications and Skills US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Green Card holder is required due to government regulations required for DSO eligibility 1 2 years of student service experience and DSO experience preferred Successful experience in higher education processes student services and development academic advising or higher education support strategies preferred Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly and simply articulate the value propositions of SWBTS its degree programs and the specific requirements for completing the application process Exemplary social skills with an ability to be a part of and contribute to a collaborative team and demonstrate love and appreciation for cross cultural interaction Proficiency in admission related technologies Microsoft Office;
