to join our team ABSC is seeking a Strategic Communications Manager to join our team supporting the Air Force National Capital Region AFNCR Information Technology Services ITS2 program This position supports the 844th Communications Group 844 CG and Air Force District of Washington AFDW mission by developing and executing strategic communications that strengthen enterprise IT operations improve customer awareness and engagement and provide senior Air Force leaders with clear timely and actionable information The Strategic Communications Manager will work closely with Government leadership Base Communications Squadrons mission partners and technical teams across Joint Base Andrews JBA Joint Base Anacostia Bolling JBAB and the Pentagon The role supports both strategic and operational communications including executive level briefings customer communications service notifications mission messaging and continuous improvement of AFNCR IT services Work Location The primary work location is Joint Base Andrews MD and the position is full time onsite with ad hoc telework based on mission requirements and client approval Security Clearance An active Secret or higher security clearance is required Responsibilities As the Strategic Communications Manager you will Develop and maintain the strategic communications plan for the 844th Communications Group aligned with Air Force District of Washington goals and prioritiesDevelop and implement communication strategies supporting 844 CG operational and policy objectivesCoordinate messaging across squadrons installations organizations and departments to ensure consistent internal and external communicationsAdvise Government and senior leadership on communication best practices strategic messaging and stakeholder engagementAlign 844 CG communications activities with broader Department of the Air Force information technology goals and military strategiesEstablish a strong on site presence with Base Communications Squadrons and engage with unit leadership to identify emerging mission impacts communicate AFNCR ITS capabilities and strengthen customer relationshipsGuide and support 844 CG and squadron commanders in developing executive tours mission briefings presentations flyers and other communications for distinguished visitors and senior leadersDevelop executive level communications and decision support products for General Officers Senior Executive Service personnel and senior AFNCR and Secretary of the Air Force leadershipTranslate complex technical and operational information into clear concise data drivenExecutive briefingsWhite papersExecutive summariesLeadership communicationsStrategic messagingProvide strategic communications counsel supporting high visibility AFNCR IT operations and leadership decision makingFacilitate information and operational exchange between the 844th Communications Group operational squadrons Headquarters Air Force the 89th Airlift Wing and other mission partnersSupport development maintenance and continuous improvement of the AFNCR ITS Service CatalogAnalyze customer and service information to identify opportunities for continuous process improvementDevelop and maintain an AFNCR newsletter designed to improve customer awareness understanding and use of available IT servicesDevelop Notifications to Airmen NOTAMs and other user communications regarding interruptions planned changes or modifications to AFNCR IT servicesDevelop flyers advertisements announcements and other communications supporting IT initiatives service changes and customer awarenessAssist the User Experience UX Manager with delivery of UX strategic initiatives and projectsEnsure communications activities support the broader customer experience and help supported organizations meet customer expectations and mission goalsTrain personnel on effective communications techniques and practicesSupport short notice Operations Fusion Team requirements Requests for Information RFIs meetings executive taskings and other mission driven requirementsOrganize and facilitate meetings and coordinate communications across technical operational and leadership stakeholdersThe source requirement places particular emphasis on executive strategic counsel data centric briefings and written products for senior Air Force leadership as well as coordination among the 844 CG its squadrons and major mission partners Requirements Education Years of Experience Bachelors degree in Computer ScienceSystems Information SystemsTechnology EngineeringEngineering Technology Software EngineeringProgramming Management Natural Sciences Social Sciences Mathematics BusinessFinance or a related disciplineMinimum of five 5 years of relevant professional experienceDemonstrated specialized knowledge and experience within strategic communications executive communications IT operations communications organizational communications or a related disciplineAbility to advise Government personnel and senior leaders within a specialized area of responsibilityRequired Skills Demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategic communications plans and communication strategiesExperience supporting senior Government military executive or organizational leadershipAbility to translate complex technical and operational information into clear messaging for both technical and non technical audiencesExceptional written and verbal communication skillsStrong executive writing skills including experience developing briefings executive summaries white papers leadership correspondence and similar productsStrong presentation development and briefing skillsAbility to synthesize large amounts of technical operational and organizational information into concise decision quality productsExperience coordinating messaging across multiple organizations and stakeholder groupsStrong customer engagement and relationship management skillsAbility to work directly with organizational leadership and provide strategic communications recommendationsExperience gathering stakeholder requirements and developing communications
