About The Role We are seeking a dedicated Software QA Engineer to join our remote team in Illinois. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. Your primary responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and maintaining test automation systems, creating testing tools, and establishing test infrastructure to facilitate feature verification and regression testing. You will work closely with the product team to define clear and testable user stories and acceptance criteria, contributing to a quality-centric development process. Your expertise will help improve product performance, user experience, and overall reliability, ensuring our solutions meet the highest standards. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about software quality assurance, with a strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies and testing methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Strong collaboration skills and proactive team player mentality
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and the full software development lifecycle
  • Experience with coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Experience with mobile and web automation tools and test case design and writing
  • Ability to develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test design, and test cases
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining manual and automated regression test suites
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate and improve product quality
  • Willingness to learn new software, technologies, and testing strategies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Help product owners define understandable and testable user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Develop, execute, and maintain detailed test plans, test design, and test cases
  • Test, automate, and maintain manual and automated regression testing suites
  • Design and improve testing automation tools and infrastructure to enhance efficiency
  • Investigate product issues and collaborate with development teams to implement improvements
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of testing processes and methodologies
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices for software quality
  • Learn and adapt to new testing tools, software, and industry trends to optimize testing strategies
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and quality product releases
