About the Role
We are seeking a Software Engineer to support a large-scale data migration initiative transitioning from Teradata to Google BigQuery. In this contingent assignment, you will contribute to moderately complex engineering work, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and apply strong technical expertise in Ab Initio and Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) data technologies.
Responsibilities
- Participate in and consult on moderately complex software engineering initiatives related to large-scale data migration and processing.
- Analyze engineering challenges requiring evaluation of multiple technical factors and propose effective solutions.
- Contribute to resolving technical issues and ensure engineering deliverables align with organizational standards, policies, and compliance requirements.
- Work closely with client engineering teams to plan, design, and execute migration activities.
- Support development, testing, and optimization of data pipelines using Ab Initio and BigQuery.
- Apply knowledge of enterprise data environments to ensure smooth transition from Teradata to Google BigQuery.
Required Skills & Experience
Core Technical Skills
- Ab Initio: 1-2 years (Required)
- Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery): 1-2 years (Required)
- Teradata: Less than 1 year (Required)
Additional Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Google BigQuery for data warehousing and analytics workloads.
- Familiarity with large-scale ETL/ELT environments and data migration methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- 4 years of software engineering experience, or equivalent combination of training, military experience, consulting, or education.
- Demonstrated experience working in data engineering or enterprise-scale data platform environments.
