About The Role Flock Safety is seeking a talented and motivated Social Media Specialist to join its newly established social media team. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and build the company’s social media presence from the ground up, developing a cohesive strategy that aligns with the company’s growth objectives. Reporting to the Director of Social Media, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging, platform-specific content, fostering authentic community engagement, and analyzing performance metrics to optimize future campaigns. As part of a rapidly expanding national footprint, this role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure that social media efforts support broader organizational goals. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of social media platforms, demonstrate creative storytelling skills, and be proactive in identifying opportunities for growth and innovation. This position offers a chance to make a tangible impact on community safety initiatives while advancing your career in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in major social media platforms, including understanding of formats, algorithms, and audience behaviors
  • Strong creative storytelling skills with the ability to develop engaging, on-brand content
  • Excellent content planning and execution skills, including managing content calendars and production timelines
  • Experience in community management, including active engagement, moderation, and representing the brand professionally
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance metrics and generate actionable insights
  • Ownership mindset with proactive initiative-taking to improve and scale social strategies
  • Ability to adapt quickly to emerging trends, platform updates, and cultural shifts
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
  • Previous experience in social media management, preferably in a tech or community-focused organization

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with organizational goals
  • Create, curate, and publish engaging content tailored to each social media platform
  • Manage daily social media activities, including scheduling, posting, and community engagement
  • Build and nurture online communities through active, authentic interaction and moderation
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on social media performance metrics to measure impact and inform future strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent brand messaging and campaign integration
  • Stay current with social media trends, platform updates, and best practices to keep content fresh and innovative
  • Identify opportunities for growth, experimentation, and content optimization based on data insights
  • Support crisis management and reputation management efforts on social channels
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate creative ideas for campaigns and initiatives
