Job Title: Social Media and Marketing Coordinator
Job Description: Decatur Book Festival (DBF) is seeking a creative and highly motivated Marketing and Social Media Coordinator.
The Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing DBF’s communications channels, leading social media content creation, updating our website with session and author details, and coordinating media advertising for our upcoming festival, October 2-3, 2026. This role will focus on developing engaging social media content to promote the festival, grow audience engagement, and drive attendance.
Reports To: Executive Director
Location: This flexible role can be in-person (DBF’s offices are located at Legacy Park, 500 S. Columbia Dr, Decatur, GA 30030), hybrid, or remote. Occasional in-person meetings will be expected.
Responsibilities:
● Design graphics and write content across DBF’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn), approximately 1-3 posts per week
● Develop, manage, and execute a content strategy that aligns with DBF’s mission, identity, and marketing objectives
● Track social media metrics, analyze performance data, and report on growth, engagement, and key insights to refine strategy
● Manage website updates for upcoming festival
● Monitor, manage, and build engagement on social media platforms
● Post live from festival events, as needed including the October 2-3, 2026 festival
● Fulfill media and sponsor advertising partnership agreements
● Engage with direct messages and comments
● Develop DBF communications, including monthly newsletters
Qualifications:
● Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
● 1-2 years of experience managing social media
● Experience with email marketing platforms, such as Mailchimp
● Comfort working with basic website updates
● Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a consistent posting schedule.
● Strong familiarity with digital platforms and social media best practices
● Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
● Responsive and thoughtful customer-service mindset
Desired Qualifications:
● Located in Atlanta Metropolitan Area
● Knowledge of Atlanta Metropolitan Area’s community network
● Strong graphic design skills in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
● Experience with heavy website updates
● Strong knowledge of Bookstagram, BookTok, literary media, and book trends
● Experience promoting events, festivals, or public programs
● Possess a passion for reading and sharing that passion with others
● BONUS: Book influencer and creator outreach experience
Position Type:This is a part-time, contract position. Expect approximately 10-15 hours/week during peak festival season (July to October), and approximately 8-10 hours/week during off-season months.
Pay: Starting at $20/hour, commensurate with experience

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Decatur, GA 30030
