Requirements
Must have:
– U.S. Citizenship is mandatory. – Active Secret clearance is required for this role. – Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for education. – Over 7 years of software engineering experience in federal, DoD, aerospace, defense, or similar mission-critical sectors. – Proficiency in one or more programming languages: C#, .NET, Java, Python, SQL, or scripting languages. – Background in maintaining, modernizing, or integrating legacy systems within controlled environments. – Familiarity with relational databases and schema-aware data handling; experience with PostgreSQL is highly preferred. – Knowledge of CI/CD processes, source control, and regression-focused software development methodologies. – Capability to troubleshoot software interfaces and manage data handling tools in an interdisciplinary engineering environment. – Ability to work collaboratively in a streamlined team under changing Government priorities and prompt technical requests.
Responsibilities:
- Execute hands-on software modifications, maintenance, and enhancements for AVT and ROEMS under the guidance of the Technical Lead. – Assist in the maintenance and updates of interfaces across STK-centered workflows and associated toolsets like ROEMS, AFSIM, MATLAB, Microsoft Excel, and terrain products. – Sustain and support trusted data retrieval and repository compatibility efforts, including schema-aware data handling for a shared PostgreSQL database environment. – Develop and maintain utilities for data import/export, scripts, automation aids, and engineering tools that enhance performance and minimize manual efforts. – Ensure stable and traceable software changes through regression-minded implementation, test preparation, release packaging, and technical documentation. – Contribute to workload assessments, implementation strategies, technical option packages, and recommendations for Government-directed modifications. – Document interface assumptions, technical limitations, repository implications, and release factors for stakeholder review and ongoing support. – Collaborate closely with the Technical Lead on-site to align code alterations, data dependencies, documentation, and mission-critical priorities. – Facilitate additional software troubleshooting, identify defects, and implement changes in classified/CUI-sensitive support situations.
