Performs the planning, system design, system implementation and support of our data center HVAC systems. Lead small to medium scale HVAC projects and the roll out of mechanical HVAC engineering initiatives. Assists with development and implementation of mechanical HVAC engineering design standards, policies and procedures. Effectively interacts with other internal and external teams, including the design engineering, site engineering, construction management and regional operations teams, onsite support vendors and consultants on projects, policies and procedures. Plans and directs day to day operations and strategic direction of delivery of either a construction project or delivery of operations for a data center facility.Responsibilities Project ManagementLeads and manages HVAC projects or other design and engineering initiativesProvides guidance and project leadership in ensuring project or other design and engineering initiatives are meeting or exceeding company expectationsSystem Operation and Work Practices (including Capacity Planning)Expert operating knowledge of critical facilities HVAC engineering systems to include advanced diagnostics and repairsInteracts with other engineering, design and construction disciplinesWorks with the capacity and site engineering teams to resolve power and/or cooling limitations and optimize resource utilizationLeadership and Communications (including Vendor Management)Contributes to mentoring junior team membersDirects all internal and external project team membersDirects external vendors per project or initiative such as general contractors, A&E design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers, etc.Expert level communication to include cross-functional SOP development and relevant technical writingInteractions are primarily to exchange information between departments within the organizationIncludes executive level communications in standardized templatesPolicy & Procedure Development and AdherenceContributes to creating and maintaining best in class policies and proceduresParticipates in review of policy and procedure documentsDevelops policy documents with the input of othersAssures adherence to developed standards and policy through review of documentation, participation in commissioning activities, design summits and data center physicalsProblem SolvingConsistently solves complex, cross-functional issues requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolveMakes recommendations for system level enhancements to eliminate potential problemsTests suitability of components or action plans for deploymentsQualifications Typically 7 Years of related experience in a data center or other critical facility environmentKnowledge of data center HVAC mechanical engineering designEfficiency and data modelingExperience developing and managing projects with internal and external stakeholdersBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experienceBilingual Spanish/English is a plusThis posting is for a backfill position, meaning it is to fill an existing vacancy within our organization.The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:United States – Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 90,000 – 136,000 USD / AnnualCanada – Toronto Office TRO : 88,000 – 132,000 CAD / AnnualOur pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
