WHO WE ARE The Edison Electric Institute EEI is the association that represents all US investor owned electric companies Our members provide electricity for more than 250 million Americans and operate in all 50 states and the District of Columbia As a whole the electric power industry supports more than 7 million jobs in communities across the United States KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR MANAGER ENGINEERING Our Reliability department has a dynamic opening for a Senior Manager Engineering This role provides technical coordination analysis and project management support on electric power system reliability and resilience issues particularly those related to NERCs development of mandatory reliability standards as approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission FERC Provide subject matter expertise to EEI and its members related to transmission and distribution questionsPlan organize and lead technical discussions with EEIs Reliability Technical Committee Responsibilities include establishing an agenda of key NERC and industry reliability and resilience issues identifying and coordinating with subject matter experts to participate in the discussion and meeting facilitationPerform analytical evaluations and draft comments on NERC Reliability Standards reliability guidelines technical documents and other reliability and resilience related documents and activities drive member consensus positions and ensure timely submittal of EEI commentsProvide technical support and assist in the development of EEI comments for FERC and DOE rulemakings and proceedingsProactively engage in reliability and resilience activities with NERC FERC and other organizations to identify potential concerns with direction early on and identify solutions to address risks to the electric grid Qualifications Bachelors degree in electrical engineeringMinimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the electric power industry with a focus on grid planning operations or reliabilityThe incumbent will be expected to utilize their engineering expertise to become subject matter experts with FERC and NERC Reliability StandardsMust understand transmission and distribution system operations or engineeringplanning of the bulk power systemExceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse sets of internal and external stakeholders to build consensusMust be able to manage time effectively prioritize workload and multi task while maintaining attention to detailStrong written and verbal communications skillsStrong research and fact finding skillsProficiency in MS Office Suite Word PowerPoint Excel and Outlook required HOW TO APPLY Interested applicants should apply online through EEIs career site EEI uses Clear Company as our applicant tracking system An application is considered when all required fields are completed Compensation The salary range for role is 130000 166700 Starting annual salary will be determined on individual qualifications We offer a competitive benefits package that includes medical dental vision 401k paid time off tuition assistance wellness incentives and programs transportation subsidy and professional development opportunities The role is eligible for a performance based bonus PHYSICAL AND SENSORY DEMANDS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions EEI is committed to providing a productive and safe environment To achieve that goal we conduct background and reference check investigations for all final applicants being considered for employment Equal Opportunity Employment MDFV
