Senior Electrical Engineer

MSB Consulting Engineers is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer at the Sugar Land location to provide technical leadership on a variety of challenging and rewarding projects. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who wants to apply their expertise in electrical systems while guiding and supporting a collaborative project team.

What You Will Do

• Lead the design of medium and low-voltage systems for greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Write scope of work documents, equipment specifications, and data sheets.
• Perform electrical system analyses (load flow, fault current, motor starting, protective device coordination, arc flash, etc.) using tools like SKM or ETAP.
• Develop protective relaying designs and electrical drawings including one-lines, three-lines, and wiring diagrams.
• Develop protective setting files for SEL and GE protective relays.
• Conduct detailed technical reviews to ensure all work meets codes, client standards, and MSB quality requirements.
• Communicate project progress, budgets, and schedules with clients and internal teams.
• Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and foster professional growth through coaching, training, and knowledge sharing.

What We Are Looking For

• 9 years of engineering experience, ideally in petrochemical, refining, midstream, or marine industries.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and review complex design packages.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution system design and protective relaying.
• Clear communicator who values collaboration and team success.
