About the Role

The Senior AI/ML Engineer will provide hands-on technical leadership to develop and deploy advanced AI platforms in digital pathology and healthcare. This role is responsible for guiding the design, integration, and standardization of AI-driven solutions that improve diagnostics and clinical operations. The position involves working across the full AI lifecycle—from ideation to production—while ensuring solutions align with clinical needs and workflows. The role also includes mentoring engineers, facilitating automated development pipelines, and providing consultative support to clinical teams to bridge AI technologies with practical healthcare applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, integration, and standardization of AI components for clinical applications
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate clinical workflows and user needs into AI solutions
• Apply machine learning techniques including deep learning, NLP, computer vision, and large language models for healthcare applications
• Establish evaluation metrics to assess AI solution effectiveness and usability in clinical environments
• Communicate complex AI results to non-technical users to inform decision-making
• Oversee engineering systems critical to AI solution development and deployment
• Design, test, and maintain tools and CI/CD pipelines for AI software releases
• Implement best practices and standards for AI development and deployment
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers
• Offer consultative services addressing complex clinical business challenges
• Deliver training and education on AI tools to healthcare staff
• Contribute to advancing state-of-the-art AI methods and technologies for healthcare

Requirements

• Expertise in AI/ML techniques including deep learning, NLP, computer vision, and large language models
• Experience with AI software lifecycle from ideation to production in healthcare or clinical settings
• Strong understanding of clinical workflows, challenges, and regulatory requirements
• Proficiency in software development, integration, and quality systems
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated AI software development
• Leadership experience, including mentoring engineers and providing consultative guidance to clinical teams
• This position is not eligible for sponsorship and does not participate in F-1 STEM OPT extension programs
