Security Officer

In this work environment, all team members are part of a community and appreciated by the people they work with — residents and coworkers — every day.Summary: Enforces the security policies and procedures of EverTrue and the community; Guards against, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry to property by performing the following duties outlined in this job descriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Patrols the community on foot and by vehicle to maintain a safe environment and provides security for visitors, residents, and employees2. Surveys the community for safety hazards, fires, suspicious people or other hazardous conditions3. Ensures security of doors, windows, and gates by performing routine checks4. Provides escort service to buildings and parking lots and assist residents to gain entry to their apartments as needed Responds to physical alarms5. Assists residents with minor repairs in the absences of maintenance6. Picks up trash during rounds in the patio homes and apartments7. Delivers newspapers8. Performs security searches as needed9. Provides assistance to the Fire Department and staff during fire/disasters10. Monitors heavy equipment and pressure gauges11. Monitors light outage and maintenance12. Investigates theft and property damage reports13. Participates in snow removal14. Completes knowledge of alarms and procedures15.Sounds alarm or call police, fire department by telephone if needed16. Writes concise and factual reports on each incident that occur during a shift17. May operate telephone/paging system receiving and transferring all incoming, internal, and external phone calls and making pages.Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:To achieve job success, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • A high school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months of related experience and/or training
• Must apply for security license within 90 days of employment if required by city, county or state and meet the qualifications for such license
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to follow simple oral and written directions
