Social Worker Full-Time | Detroit, MI | 20252026 School Year

A fantastic school district located in Detroit, MI is seeking a full-time Social Worker to join the team. In this role, you will provide essential support and services to students, helping to foster academic achievement, emotional well-being, and personal growth. You will collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure each student receives the appropriate care and guidance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct social-emotional support and counseling to students based on individual needs and IEP goals

  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff to support student development and well-being

  • Assist in implementing behavior or educational plans as needed

  • Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation of interventions and outcomes

  • Participate in meetings and provide insight into student performance, social-emotional needs, and barriers to learning

  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) and current Michigan Social Work License (LMSW or LCSW)

  • Experience working in school settings or with children and adolescents preferred

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

  • Knowledge of behavioral, social-emotional, and clinical intervention strategies relevant to students
