Research Scientist Sr
Job Description You will be the Research Scientist Sr for the Signature Integration Team for Supportable Low Observables (SLO) which is responsible for advancing low‑observable capabilities across the F‑35 and F‑22 programs.
What You Will Be Doing As the Research Scientist Sr you will be responsible for leading the integration of signature‑management solutions that keep our aircraft stealth‑ready and mission‑effective.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Conduct technical reviews of modification documentation, including Change Requests, Initial Retrofit Plans, and Time Compliance Technical Directives.
- Provide low‑observable (LO) removal and restoration guidance and technical support to maintainers.
- Plan, execute, post‑process, and communicate results of laboratory, field, depot, flight, and vehicle signature measurements.
- Deliver LO technical support for validation and verification of modifications.
- Coordinate LO technical support for site surveys and stand‑up events.

Who You Are You are a collaborative technical leader with proven expertise in low‑observable signature management. You excel at communicating complex concepts clearly, both in writing and verbally, and you thrive in cross‑functional environments. Your background includes hands‑on experience with RCS measurement equipment, customer interaction, and delivering technically sound proposals and estimates. You are motivated by challenging problems and eager to drive continuous improvement in stealth technologies.

Desired Skills
- Experienced with Radar Measurement Technology
- F-35 LO maintenance/troubleshooting experience
- F-22 LO maintenance/troubleshooting experience
- Proven experience interfacing with diverse teams of contractors, military customers, and depot management
- Experience with Repair Verification Radar (RVR) or other zonal RCS equipment
- F-35 engineering and logistics systems experience (JDL – JSF Data Library, PDM – Product Data Manager, QAD — Quality Assurance Document, ATLAS – Advanced Technical Logistics Applications System, VAS – Visual Augmentation System, SFM – Shop Floor Manager.)
- Familiarity with F-35 and/ or F-22 airframe design and coating materials and methods, aircraft systems and subsystems.
- Prior military service at multiple levels of fighter aircraft maintenance, logistics, and support preferred.
- Project management experience with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Strong communication skills (written and oral), with a willingness to engage with subject matter experts in a variety of different functional organizations.
- Previous experience in low observables (LO), survivability, or susceptibility
- Experience in radar cross section (RCS) design, Low Observable (LO) materials and processes
- Experienced in the application of aircraft spray material to include paint and/or LO material
- Project or program management, and execution of signature technology
- Ability to operate autonomously with minimal direction from management
- Proven experience interfacing with diverse teams of contractors, military customers, and depot management
