Research & Knowledge Analyst
About the Opportunity:
This team is seeking a skilled Research and Knowledge Analyst to conduct comprehensive legal and business intelligence research and support the development and maintenance of the organization’s intranet. The role requires strong analytical and communication skills to translate complex information into actionable insights. This fully remote position prefers candidates in the Central or Mountain Time Zones or those able to work 9:30 am — 5:30 pm CST.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct legal and business intelligence research using Lexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg, CCH, PACER, D&B, Hoovers, Capital IQ, and AI tools
• Obtain documents from state and federal courts and governmental agencies via online resources or third-party vendors
• Develop and maintain knowledge of available online and print research resources
• Collaborate with Research Analysts to provide quality service across offices
• Prepare business intelligence reports and provide news and docket alerts in coordination with management
• Monitor and manage intranet content and layout with relevant internal stakeholders
• Coordinate with Marketing for firm news and intranet homepage content
• Work with IT Development Team on intranet page building, list updates, link modifications, HTML editing, document library management, and document check-in/out
• Provide training on online resources and new hire orientation in coordination with management
• Evaluate new products and recommend resource purchases
• Assist with print collection maintenance and acquisition identification alongside Collection Development Specialist
Requirements:
• Minimum two years of research experience in a law firm
• Preferred experience in AmLaw100/200 law firms
• Thorough knowledge of Lexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg, and CCH research services
• Familiarity with emerging technologies, including data analytics and AI
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple requests with high customer service standards
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• General understanding of databases and MS Office applications
• Thorough knowledge of MS SharePoint Online and 2016 version
• Preferred working knowledge of HTML and CSS
• Experience with ticketing management systems such as Quest and ServiceNow
• JD, MLS, or equivalent preferred; other graduate degrees with significant experience considered
Compensation:
• Salary range for this role is $90,000 – $110,000, representing a reasonable estimate at the time of posting
• Actual compensation depends on candidate experience, qualifications, and location
