Job Responsibilities Careers at DPH: Work that makes a difference!Embracing Service, Inspiring Innovation, Promoting Teamwork, Pursuing Excellence, and Advancing EquityUnder direct supervision the Client Financial Advocate will support clients in the agency’s health services clinics by conducting registration interviews, assessing financial eligibility, processing client information, and ensuring the delivery of services aligns with the agency’s core values. This position operates under direct supervision and follows the agency’s policies and procedures to maintain efficient, confidential, and effective service delivery.Meet, interview, and assist public health clients on-site, ensuring that interactions align with program policies and procedures. Process client information accurately, complete medical records, and update client profiles in Statewide Immunization Online Network (SIMON), Electronic Health Records (EHR), and Private Pay databases. Answer phone calls, schedule appointments in the EHR system, and assist clients with inquiries. Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of client privacy. Complete and submit all required documentation, including Personnel Cost Accounting System (PCAS), South Carolina Enterprise Information System (SCEIS), leave requests, and in-service/training requests, following agency policies. Participate in required and optional training opportunities for professional development. Contribute to disaster response efforts as needed, supporting agency operations during emergencies. Other assigned program support functions.Collaborate with other team members to ensure the effective delivery of services and promote a positive, supportive working environment. Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to team goals and initiatives. Completes other duties as assigned including but not limited to: Facility representative: Daily opening and closing of the clinic area. Collaborating with Health Department Manager, Administrative Manager, supervisor or program on office supply inventory, ordering and procurement processes and procedures. Responsible for organization and upkeep of supplies. Provides assistance with the safety of the clinic area. Answers phone and direct calls appropriately internal and provide external community resources phone numbers and addresses as needed and schedule appointments. Issues and documents/tracks Overdose (OD) safety kits Naloxone (NARCAN) and COVID test kits to customers. Completes all required agency trainings and optional trainings for individual employee development. Complete PCAS and SCEIS daily.Minimum and Additional RequirementsState Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.Agency Additional Requirements: A high school diploma or GED with one (1) year related clerical experience or high school diploma or GED with any amount of SCDHEC/SCDPH work experience Must possess a current driver’s license. Must be able to lift 30 pounds and able to sit or stand for long periods of time with some bending, reaching, stooping and pulling.
