Position Production Supervisor Specialty Finishing Reports to Plant Manager Hours 200pm 1200am; Monday Thursday A pre employment drug test and background check are required Direct the efforts of the Specialty Finishing Lead Operators Operators and Support staff to achieve highest levels of product quality on time shipments and thruput consistent with BELMARK Mission Purpose and Principles Upgrade the productive capabilities of the operation through system improvement training system accountability equipment maintenance and improvement Support new productsample request efforts Assure the continued training and growth of production personnel Principle Duties & Responsibilities Responsible to follow all safety procedures as required by the role and to nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirementsAnticipate short term and long term production needs and plan to meet them in conjunction with sales and scheduling effortsAchieve continuous improvement in quality waste and productivityAssign instruct and coordinate the work of all production personnelEnsure proper staffing for straight time achievement of production needs Must manage all overtime workedResponsible for product quality motivation and coaching of personnelSolve daily production problemsHold production personnel accountable for adhering to agreed upon standards processes and systemsCoordinate daily production needs with the following departments Finishing Graphics and SchedulingMake daily production decisionsDirect appearance activities for the press press support and associated areasCoordinate maintenance requirementsTake corrective action to eliminate problemsCross train as necessary to ensure press coverageAssist with the development of annual plans for personnel processes and equipment improvementProvide verbal and written feedback and training in proper processes and techniques to production personnelAssist in planning and executing research and development projects and sample request effortsAssist with performance reviews attendance records scheduling vacations time card accuracy and pay recommendationsMay perform other duties as assigned by supervisorKnowledge Skills & Abilities Required Must understand people and be able to communicate effectively with themMust have excellent leadership and interpersonal skillsMust be able to analyze many variables and choose the most effective course of action for the organization at any given point in timeRequires nearly constant concentration and attention to detailAbility to give receive and analyze information formulate work plans prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plansMust be able to resolve problems handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressureAbility to meet deadlinesMust be able to communicate and answer questions in a professional and friendly mannerRequires any combination equivalent to graduation from high school plus two 2 years of press operation and leadership experience; or a 2 year technical degreeKnowledge of and the ability to effectively utilize the English languageAbility to read comprehend and follow implicit and explicit written and oral instructionsAbility to stand for 35 of work time; walk for 35 of work time; and sit for 30 of work timeAbility to lift up to 25 pounds or less 30 of work timeAbility to see clearly at 20 inches or less or 20 feet or more identify and distinguish colors and to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focusMay be required to lift up to 75 poundsGreat benefits for the entire family Health Dental & Vision plan with Wellness discountFREE On site Health ClinicFlexible Spending AccountLife Insurance & Disability Insurance401k and Profit Sharing Plan with 6 matchPaid vacation AND personal timePaid holidays starting day oneEmployee Assistance ProgramFREE On site Fitness Center Non sales job postings are limited to residents in the states of Wisconsin and Arizona only Belmark is an Equal Opportunity Employer Eligibility for internal transfers is based on completion of required trainings overall performance attendance record qualifications and tenure in your current position
