Product Engineer

We’re representing a rapidly growing AI company building advanced production-grade agents that perform complex work across real-world industries. Their platform powers long-horizon agents capable of executing end-to-end workflows for some of the largest accounting firms in the world.

The company recently raised $100M in funding at a $1B valuation and is deploying applied machine learning systems at production scale. Backed by leading investors including Khosla Ventures, Accel, Google Ventures, and prominent AI leaders, the company is pushing the frontier of applied agent systems.

Their engineering organization operates in small, high-ownership pods that focus on solving complex technical problems across infrastructure, agent systems, and product experiences.

2. What You Will Do

As a Product Engineer, you will work across multiple layers of the system building production-grade AI agents and the infrastructure that supports them.

You may contribute across several technical domains, including:

Product Engineering

• Build product interfaces and workflows that allow users to interact with long-horizon AI agents.

• Design systems that enable reliable interaction with non-deterministic AI systems.

Agent Engineering

• Develop context engineering frameworks and tool systems that agents use to perform complex tasks.

• Design abstractions that allow agents to operate effectively across dynamic workflows.

Agent Platform

• Build evaluation systems, harness infrastructure, and observability frameworks for agent behavior.

• Develop mechanisms for analyzing long-running agent trajectories and extracting actionable signals.

Platform & Infrastructure

• Design and build scalable infrastructure for running agent systems at production scale.

• Improve internal developer workflows and engineering tooling.

Agent Data Systems

• Develop data pipelines and infrastructure that ensure accurate, low-latency data access for agents.

Engineers often move across these areas depending on team goals, contributing to different parts of the system as priorities evolve.

3. Ideal Background

The ideal candidate is a strong systems thinker who enjoys solving new and complex technical problems and working at the frontier of applied AI systems.

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and systems design experience.

• Ability to reason from first principles and solve novel technical challenges.

• Experience designing scalable systems and complex software architectures.

• Strong coding skills and experience building production systems.

• Curiosity and willingness to deeply understand the domain, workflows, and data systems powering the product.

• Comfort working in ambiguous environments where problem definitions evolve quickly.

• Strong ownership mindset and ability to take responsibility for shipping end-to-end systems.

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

4. Preferred

• Experience building infrastructure or tooling for AI/ML systems.

• Experience working with agent-based systems, large language models, or AI workflows.

• Experience designing evaluation systems or data pipelines for machine learning models.

• Startup experience or experience working in highly autonomous engineering environments.

5. Compensation and Benefits

• Compensation: Competitive base salary plus meaningful equity.

• Work Model: Fully onsite in New York City (Flatiron), five days per week.
