Paralegal (Office of Disciplinary Counsel)

- You will provide technical and paralegal services for attorneys assigned to the Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC).
- You will provide legal support including drafting legal documents, preparing correspondence, updating calendars, and communicating with parties on the progress of cases.
- You will ensure documents are filed and maintained in an organized filing system.
- You will assist with the preparation of case status reports and assist in managing case flow.
- You will document executed tasks, phone calls, and other activities in the Agency’s case management system.
- You will perform other duties such as contacting witnesses, scheduling and coordinating hearings, coordinating subpoena services, copying and organizing documents and exhibits, and closing cases.
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma and experience in providing administrative support for an attorney(s) or a legal office.
Preferred Qualifications
- A paralegal degree and/or certificate.
- Knowledge of personal computers and word processing.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of applicable terminology/research practices and relevant laws and regulations.
- Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the public and co-workers orally and in writing.
Other Requirements
- Position works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and standing.
- May require occasional work outside of normal office hours.
- May be required to lift, carry, move and/or position objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Daily filing, data entry, telephone and computer use.
