Origination Analyst, Renewable Energy
The Company
Our client was established over a decade ago by a major global private equity manager that is heavily invested in energy. They are a national company that designs, develops, finances and constructs decentralized renewable energy systems for commercial and industrial companies. Fast forward to today, our client is owned by an international investor in sustainability initiatives, which has enabled the company to have reliable access to funding from key investors.
Role Overview
Our client is seeking an Analyst who will provide support across a wide range of commercial and analytical functions. This position involves researching priority customer segments, initiating outreach to prospective partners, preparing customized presentations and sales materials, building and updating financial models, drafting proposals, and contributing to early-stage project development efforts. The role also requires monitoring emerging technologies, policy trends, and market opportunities, and summarizing findings for internal use.
Daily responsibilities include keeping clear and consistent communication with internal team members, customers, and third-party advisors to ensure alignment across active workstreams. The Analyst will also prepare regular updates on pipeline activity and lead-generation results for company leadership, as well as for project capital partners and financing institutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop tailored slide decks and pitch collateral for prospective partners
- Update, adjust, and execute financial modeling tools for project evaluations
- Serve as a polished external representative of the company and its clean energy offerings
- Perform industry research and policy review to inform pipeline-building tactics
- Analyze utility tariffs, rate structures, and related cost drivers
- Prepare justification packages for behind-the-meter renewable systems and community solar solutions
- Work closely with Engineering, Construction, Asset Management, and Finance to compile technical inputs and commercial assumptions
- Identify and engage new prospects through targeted outreach
- Contribute to the creation of proposals for RFPs and RFQs
- Draft meeting outlines and capture detailed notes for internal distribution
- Participate in client sessions, property walk-throughs, industry events, and other organizational functions
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or comparable professional background
- Experience in the renewable energy industry
- Skilled with core office software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong verbal and written interpersonal abilities
- Exceptional quantitative thinking and workflow management capabilities
- Naturally inquisitive and eager to adopt emerging offerings within a rapidly shifting clean energy landscape
- Capable of juggling multiple tasks, setting priorities, and keeping teammates informed on status and timing
- Able to spot inconsistencies, investigate root causes independently, and suggest practical solutions
- Highly attentive to accuracy and outcomes, comfortable working across teams in a high-velocity, continually changing setting, including when longer hours are needed
- Genuine motivation to contribute to the commercial and industrial renewable power sector
- Approaches work with professionalism, ownership, integrity, respect, and a team-first mindset
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship
- Ability to work three days a week in the New York City office
