Skills:
Extensive hands-on experience with Palo Alto VM Series firewall and Panorama configuration and optimization Required 5 Years
Experience with routers, routing protocols, transit gateways, load balancing, and overall cloud networking, including VPCs, subnets, routes, securit Required 3 Years
Experience with security best practices and implementing security controls in a AWS cloud environment. Required 5 Years
Experience with VPN technologies to include IPsec and SSL technologies. Required 5 Years
Ability to work on large TCP/IP networks, design, implementation, and troubleshooting. Required 3 Years
Experience with name services and resolution, associated IP assignments. Required
Knowledge of core network services (including DNS, DHCP, and IPAM technologies) Required
Possess strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot complex cloud networking infrastructure issues. Required

Strong knowledge and understanding of cloud infrastructure components: compute, storage, network management, and monitoring (network and security) Highly desired

Job Description:
The NC Department of Health and Human Services seeks a highly technical contract resource for NC FAST (Families Accessing Services through Technology). This position will serve as an Network Engineer to support applications hosted in the cloud (AWS/Azure) and on-Prem.

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

Troubleshooting cloud infrastructure issues related to networking and security.
Create firewall rules for environments.
Assist the Operations and cloud team as requested.
Maintain and keep track of all technical duties related to cloud networking such as design, implementation, and support.
Manage, monitor, troubleshoot and resolve network performance issues: utilization/throughput, slowness, and unexpected latency.
