POSITION SUMMARY
Totex Manufacturing is seeking a driven, technically fluent National Sales Manager to lead our direct sales efforts and manage our nationwide network of manufacturers’ representative firms. This is a high-impact, individual-contributor leadership role responsible for growing revenue with new OEM customers, developing strategic accounts, and ensuring our rep network is aligned, motivated, and performing at a high level.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in the electronics, battery, or power management industry, understands the technical and commercial dynamics of selling engineered custom solutions to OEM engineering and procurement teams, and has a proven track record of building customer relationships and closing complex, long-cycle sales programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESNew Business Development
- Identify, qualify, and develop new OEM customer opportunities across medical, military & defense, industrial, aerospace & UAV, consumer, and test & measurement markets
- Own full sales cycle from prospecting through RFQ, technical alignment, quoting, negotiation, and program award
- Maintain a healthy, qualified pipeline and provide accurate forecasting
- Collaborate with engineering and applications teams on technical and commercial proposals
- Represent Totex at trade shows, conferences, and customer events
Manufacturers’ Rep Network Management
- Manage and develop a national network of independent manufacturers’ representative firms
- Set KPIs, goals, and performance expectations; conduct regular business reviews
- Provide training, tools, and competitive positioning support
- Identify and onboard new rep firms as needed
- Serve as escalation point for key rep-managed accounts
Strategic Account Management
- Build executive-level relationships with key OEM accounts
- Deliver market intelligence and product capability updates to strategic customers
- Monitor competitive landscape and customer roadmaps
- Partner with engineering and operations to ensure successful program launches
Reporting & CRM
- Maintain accurate CRM records of opportunities and pipeline activity
- Provide weekly and monthly forecast and performance reports
- Track rep network performance across territories and segments
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTSEducation
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
- Equivalent technical experience considered
Experience
- 7–10 years of progressive sales experience in:
- Battery pack or lithium-ion cell industry
- Electronics manufacturing services (EMS)
- Power management or energy storage systems
- Technical OEM component sales
- Proven experience managing manufacturers’ rep networks
- Strong track record of winning OEM programs and long-cycle sales
- Experience in medical, defense, industrial, UAV/aerospace, or test & measurement preferred
Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of Li-ion, LiFePO4, NiMH chemistries and battery systems
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings
- Familiarity with UL, IEC, UN38.3, ISO, FDA standards (preferred)
