Multimedia Services Director
Job Responsibilities The Multimedia Services Director, under the limited supervision of the Vice President of Institutional Support, supervises the department’s units, which include Multimedia Development, Technology Multimedia Support, the Copy Center, and Classroom Audio/Video Support. This role is responsible for hiring and supervising staff, as well as long-term planning for the Multimedia Services department. The director also manages all activities related to the procurement, installation, operation, maintenance, and replacement of multimedia equipment for faculty, staff, and external clients of MTC.The Multimedia Services Director must have:
- Comprehensive knowledge of multimedia and audio-visual equipment, including installation, operation, and maintenance.
- Strong abilities in budgeting, negotiation, planning, and developing proposals and project schedules.
- Sound independent judgment within established guidelines.
- The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, vendors, and the public.
- Experience supporting the transmission and capture of digital audio and video in classrooms, labs, auditoriums, conference rooms, and other learning spaces.
- The ability to communicate technical information clearly and in an understandable manner.
- Flexibility to adapt guidelines and collaborate with other college units to ensure successful project completion.
This position is located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus.Minimum and Additional RequirementsA bachelor’s degree and relevant program management experience. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with the public.Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years’ experience in a similar supervisory position; previous supervisory experience of a large, multi-faceted staff, knowledge of state-of-the-art multimedia/production equipment; and prior supervisory skills including scheduling of facilities, equipment, personnel and other related activities.
