Metallurgy Technician
The Metallurgy Technician supports metallurgical testing, analysis, and quality control processes to ensure materials meet required specifications and standards. This role involves preparing, testing, and analyzing metallic and non-metallic samples using laboratory equipment and established procedures.
Preferred Hours: 7:30-4pm Monday – Friday
Compensation: $20-25/hour depending on experience
- Prepare metallurgical samples (cutting, mounting, grinding, polishing, and etching) for microscopic and mechanical evaluation.
- Conduct routine hardness tests, tensile tests, and other mechanical property evaluations under supervision.
- Operate basic laboratory equipment (optical microscopes, hardness testers, grinders, polishing machines).
- Record and organize test results accurately for review..
- Assist in quality control testing of incoming materials and finished products.
- Follow established ASTM/ISO/ASME procedures and company standards for testing.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory workspace, including basic equipment maintenance.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and learn new testing techniques as needed.
