Epic Applications Analyst (Inpatient)
Location: Honolulu, HI (Onsite, 5 days per week)
Overview
We are seeking an Epic Applications Analyst to support and enhance inpatient clinical systems within a large healthcare environment. This role will focus primarily on Epic build and configuration, while also providing Tier 2 application support and collaborating closely with clinical, IT, and operational teams.
You will act as a key liaison between end users and IT, translating clinical and business needs into functional system solutions that improve workflows and patient care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
System Build and Configuration
- Configure and maintain Epic modules based on organizational needs
- Build and support order sets, clinical documentation tools, and workflows
- Ensure system design aligns with clinical and operational requirements
Testing and Validation
- Perform unit and integrated testing for new builds, upgrades, and enhancements
- Validate workflows with clinicians and end users
- Troubleshoot and resolve build related issues
Upgrades and Enhancements
- Support Epic upgrades, patches, and new releases
- Implement system enhancements based on departmental needs
- Maintain version control and adhere to Epic standards
Workflow Analysis and Optimization
- Partner with clinicians, nurses, and operational teams to understand workflows
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend system driven improvements
- Document and map workflows for ongoing optimization
End User Support and Training
- Provide Tier 2 support for Epic applications
- Assist users with troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Develop training materials and support adoption of new features
Project Work
- Participate in implementations, upgrades, and go live events
- Coordinate across IT and business teams
- Track tasks, timelines, and deliverables
Qualifications
Minimum
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 1+ year of experience in systems analysis, application support, or related work
- Experience working with business or clinical applications
Preferred
- Experience supporting Epic systems, especially build and configuration
- Experience working with clinical users in a healthcare setting
- Strong understanding of workflow analysis and process improvement

Epic certification is a plus but not required. Strong hands on build experience is acceptable.
Additional Details
- This role is heavily focused on Epic build, with some support responsibilities
- Candidates must be comfortable working onsite full time
- Relocation is supported and timelines are flexible for the right candidate
- Interaction across IT, clinical, and operational teams is a key part of the role
- Interview process is typically 1 round for contract and 2 to 3 rounds for direct hire
