interesting conversation with you SUMMARY OF ROLE The Mechanical Engineer plays a key role in supporting manufacturing operations through the design development and improvement of equipment tooling and mechanical systems This position focuses on enhancing production efficiency product quality and safety within injection molding and assembly processes The Mechanical Engineer collaborates closely with cross functional teams to drive continuous improvement troubleshoot mechanical challenges and implement innovative solutions that align with Westfall Techniks commitment to excellence and precision manufacturing DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Design develop and optimize manufacturing processes mechanical components tooling fixtures and equipment for injection molding and assembly operationsSupport new product introductions and equipment validation activities including IQOQPQ documentation when requiredProvide technical support for troubleshooting mechanical tooling or automation issues on the production floorConduct root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive actions CAPA to resolve mechanical or process failuresDevelop and maintain accurate mechanical drawings models and BOMs using CAD software SolidWorks preferredLead or contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on reducing downtime improving cycle time and enhancing qualityCollaborate with tooling engineers and external vendors to support mold maintenance repairs and modificationsParticipate in Capital Expenditure CAPEX projects including equipment specification vendor selection and installation oversightEnsure designs and processes comply with Westfall Technik standards ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR 820 requirementsMentor or guide junior engineers or technicians as needed on project related tasks or best practicesMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related field required47 years of engineering experience in plastics manufacturing injection molding or medical device production REQUIREDProficiency in CAD design SolidWorks preferred and familiarity with GD&T principlesStrong analytical problem solving and troubleshooting skillsExperience applying lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodsKnowledge of tooling automation and mechanical system integrationExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced manufacturing environmentWORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment is usually in an office within a
