Job Description: Job: Material HandlerShift: 223 Days 6AM-6:30PMLocation: Royal Canin (Fremont, NE)The Material Handler’s role functions as a member of an area team that is directly responsible for the efficient production of quality products in the required quantities. This role will operate/change over specified machinery in the assigned area. Material Handlers must ensure efficiency, operational conformance, product quality and continuous improvement. Material Handlers must have the skills set to train and/or perform the tasks of other associates in the area as needed. This job requires strong communication, interpersonal and team building skills to support site objectives.Responsibilities Always operate equipment in a safe and efficient mannerPerform periodic and routine inventories of raw materials in storageProvide and perform routine maintenance checks on equipmentAssist in other production, sanitation, maintenance, and quality activity in other areas as directedPerform housekeeping and sanitation proceduresProvide functional communication with other staff members as necessary to optimize quality, efficiency, productivity and safetyLoading trucks, live loads and staged loadsAbility to operate Forklift — (Expert Level)Direct ship responsibility including proper disposition of hold product, food safety hold product and released productWMS, BOL responsibility / accountabilitySupport Warehouse Area Lead with all activities associated with shipping departmentStanding on a concrete floorSitting, getting up and down off of a forklift oftenWearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform)Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 55lbsMust be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust dirt and chemicalsVision correctable to 20/20Qualifications Be 18 years of age or olderHave a High school diploma, GED or equivalent educationMust be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedulesAbility to understand and effectively communicate in the English languageForklift certifiedMust have valid drivers licenseKnowledge of inventory computer systems WMSFood manufacturing experience and knowledge of food safetyKnowledge of Good Manufacturing PracticesWhat can you expect from Mars?Work with diverse and talented Associates, all guided by the Five Principles.Join a purpose driven company, where we’re striving to build the world we want tomorrow, today.Best-in-class learning and development support from day one, including access to our in-house Mars University.An industry competitive salary and benefits package, including company bonus.
