Market Manager — Atlanta Market

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Spherion Greater Atlanta Area is a locally owned Spherion staffing franchise serving the greater Atlanta market across professional, clerical, healthcare, and light industrial verticals. We are expanding into Cobb County and North Fulton and are looking for a driven, entrepreneurial staffing professional to build and own this market from the ground up.

This is not a maintenance role. You will open the market, establish client relationships, and fill your own orders — then, as the business scales, transition into building and leading a team beneath you. If you have ever wanted to run your own desk with the backing of a national brand and a locally invested operator, this is that opportunity.

HOW THIS ROLE WORKS

Phase 1 — Year One: Operate as a full-desk recruiter. Prospect and close new clients, manage requisitions, and fill direct hire, temp, and temp-to-hire orders independently across Cobb County and North Fulton.

Phase 2 — Year Two and Beyond:Upon reaching defined, agreed-upon billing and client milestones, begin hiring and leading a small team of recruiters. Shift from owning every placement to driving the office’s overall performance.

The path to team leadership is tied to specific milestones established before your start date — not a vague promise made in an interview.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Prospect, develop, and close new client relationships across Cobb County and North Fulton through direct outreach, networking, and referrals

• Manage the full recruiting cycle — sourcing, screening, presenting, and placing candidates across professional, clerical, and light industrial roles

• Build and maintain a pipeline of active and passive candidates within your defined verticals

• Represent Spherion Greater Atlanta Area at local business and civic events to build brand presence in a new market

• Maintain accurate activity tracking and pipeline reporting within our ATS

• In Phase 2: interview, onboard, and develop junior recruiters; set desk-level goals and coach performance

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 3–7 years of staffing industry experience with full-desk or business development exposure

• Demonstrated ability to independently develop new client accounts — not just fill orders handed to you

• Existing relationships or familiarity with the Cobb County or North Fulton employer market is a strong advantage

• Comfortable with ambiguity and energized by building something new rather than maintaining something established

• Genuine interest in mentoring and leading others as the office grows

• Strong communicator — written and verbal — with the ability to represent the brand professionally at all levels

COMPENSATION

• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience

• Aggressive commission structure on direct hire and temporary staffing billings

• Override and team incentive compensation upon transition to Phase 2
