Manufacturing Engineering InternOVERALL SUMMARYWork closely with Manufacturing Engineers and Manufacturing to support and improve manufacturing operations JOB DESCRIPTION Support data capture creation and updating of work instructions and work aidsAssist in data presentation and development of Elliott Training Program curriculumAssist the Manufacturing Engineers with revisions and improvements to manufacturing methods and procedures including writing change order requests and deviationsHelp coordinate and optimize work center layouts to ensure safety and proper housekeeping efforts Assist with setup and development of wire processing equipment for wire harness assembly May include creation of wire cut lists programs and harness layoutsdiagramsOther duties as assigned by the area supervisorREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES Individual must possess the following knowledge skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation using some other combination of skills and abilities Communicates effectively both verbally and in writingAbility to read and understand engineering drawingsAbility to manage several projects simultaneouslyEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School diploma or equivalentCurrently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Industrial Engineering AeroSpace Engineering Civil Engineering Industrial Technology or a related degree areaPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to squat bend and reach overheadAbility to push and pull up to 50 lbsAbility to climb up and down trucksAbility to stand and walk for prolonged periods of timeWORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential job functions of this job Manufacturing Plant environment including but not limited to high noise levels high traffic of moving parts such as large steel unit pieces moving forklifts overhead crane usage electrical shock hazard when working with wiring and engine exhaust
