Manager, SDET, Photo/Video Apps
Summary The Creativity Apps team is looking for a SDET Manager that has experience with video and photo editing, iOS and macOS, to contribute to the production of innovative tools for creative professionals, video makers and visual storytellers. It requires a highly proactive individual with strong creative, technical and analytic skills and passion for emerging technologies such as AI, computer vision, and on-device machine learning.
Description The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise, people management, a desire to help shape the product roadmap and have a keen eye for the user experience. You will be responsible for planning and driving execution of testing for multiple simultaneous development initiatives. Your ability to work closely with development teams, to identify and understand key features and their underlying functionality, will be the key to your success. Your experience with video and or/photo editing will help you to produce a clear and concise picture of product quality for the project, from concept to product release. You will be working closely with other QA and engineering team members to help coordinate cross-functional test efforts. Your capacity for defining, hiring, and developing a world-class QA team is vital. Your ongoing curiosity and commitment to self-education in video and/or image technologies as well as new testing techniques is what will set you apart.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3 years in a QA leadership role managing a team.
- 7 years of experience in a Software Quality Engineering role.
- Hands-on experience working with video and/or photo editing workflows and tools
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, QA methodologies, and processes
- Extensive experience testing mobile and desktop applications and frameworks
- Proficient in automation development using Swift, Python, or comparable programming languages
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable test automation solutions for applications and frameworks using tools such as XCTest
- Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, or a related subject area, or we may consider an equivalent industry experience.
- Proven ability to lead end-to-end test planning, prioritize critical workflows, align cross-functional teams, and deliver high quality releases
- Strong problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to identify root causes and drive resolution
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (oral, written and interpersonal) with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Apple’s development ecosystem, including Xcode and Instruments
- Understanding of generative AI models, computer vision, and on-device machine learning, with experience applying their capabilities to different applications
Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $228,100 and $342,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
