Salary/Hourly Rate $22/hr – $25/hr
Position Overview As the Junior Accountant, you will support the Finance team with day-to-day accounting operations. From AP/AR support to reconciliations and reporting, you will play a key role in keeping the financial engine running smoothly. This role is perfect for someone analytical, organized, and excited to grow their accounting career inside a creative, pet-loving agency.
Responsibilities Of The Junior Accountant
- Assist with daily accounting tasks, including AP, AR, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare account reconciliations and support month-end close activities.
- Help process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and payments.
- Track project-related expenses and assist with job costing.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation for audits.
- Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting tasks.
- Collaborate with account managers and creative teams on billing and expense tracking.
- Support the Senior Accountant with ad hoc financial projects and cleanup tasks.
Required Experience/Skills for the Junior Accountant:
- 2+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas).
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and reconciliations.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, creative environment with shifting priorities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner with non-finance teams.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Junior Accountant:
- Experience in advertising, marketing, media, or creative agencies.
- Familiarity with agency billing or project-based accounting.
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
