It provides 24/7/365 monitoring to ensure high availability and rapid incident response for essential government IT systems.

2. About the Opportunity:

The IT Service Monitoring and Reporting Specialist plays a key role in maintaining the performance, availability, and security of critical IT services. This fully remote position involves continuous monitoring, incident detection, and coordination of service recovery efforts in a high-availability environment. The role supports a 24/7/365 operation, primarily during third shift hours, and is essential in ensuring uninterrupted service delivery to government stakeholders.

3. Responsibilities:

• Monitor IT services, cloud applications, and infrastructure continuously

• Configure and maintain monitoring tools, alerts, and dashboards per government standards

• Detect service issues and initiate timely response actions

• Generate and distribute alerts and notifications to government stakeholders

• Produce weekly reports on performance, availability, and security trends

• Provide ad hoc reports within two hours of request

• Analyze monitoring data to identify root causes and suggest corrective actions

• Open and close service status flags within 15 minutes of outage identification and resolution, documenting Reasons for Outage

• Lead planning and execution of scheduled and unscheduled service interruptions

• Participate in government working groups providing monitoring inputs

• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to monitoring tools

• Architect, install, integrate, patch, and maintain the IT service monitoring framework

• Conduct quarterly assessments with platform owners to improve monitoring accuracy

• Maintain documentation for monitoring procedures and recovery processes

• Support contingency planning for data center shutdowns and security controls

4. Requirements:

• Experience with enterprise IT monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, Dynatrace, or Nagios

• Strong knowledge of network performance monitoring, cloud environments, and IT infrastructure

• Experience supporting incident response and service recovery

• Ability to analyze complex data and produce clear reports

• Familiarity with IT Service Management processes including incident and change management

• Self-motivated with attention to detail and effective communication skills

• Must maintain a secure remote work environment compliant with DoD cybersecurity requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen able to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience

• Ability to work rotating shifts including third shift hours (1100 PM — 0700 AM)

• Physical ability to perform repetitive motions, follow audible communications, and sit for prolonged periods

Preferred:

• Prior DoD or federal IT operations experience

• Knowledge of Army HRC systems and mission environment

• ITIL certification or experience with ITIL-aligned environments

• Strong communication skills for reporting and stakeholder coordination

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• The projected compensation range for this position is $65,000.00 to $85,000.00 (annualized USD)

• Compensation is based on factors including education, skills, experience, contract affordability, and organizational requirements
