Job Overview The material handler is responsible for all assigned tasks relating to inventory control, including inventory cycle counts and communicating inventory needs. Other responsibilities are as follows: item journal input, inventory reconciliations, forecasting future inventory requirements, pulling, packing, and staging inventory accordingly.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the inventory manager to identify fast-moving parts to stock. As well as long lead time items.
  • Report discrepancies of over/under amounts and any damaged products to the inventory manager or procurement manager.
  • Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials or supplies in stock; recording the location of inventory in D365.
  • Generating item journals to charge out goods pulled from stock.
  • Works with Expeditors/Parts Sales/Service to locate materials or supplies by pulling and issuing out inventory as requested.
  • Preparing outbound inventory shipments for shipping and receiving clerk.
  • Handles inventory cycle counts, physical mid-year, and end-of-year inventory counts.
  • Ensures compliance with inventory processes and procedures.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, shelves, and vehicles by hand or forklift operation.
  • Resolves inventory problems promptly.
  • Track and report non-conforming products.
  • Identify obsolete inventory.
  • Assist to identify additional stock based on usage and demand.
  • Abel to work in a warehouse environment.
  • Other duties assigned by manager.

Requirements/Qualifications Experience with cycle counting/inventory; Solid mathematical skills; basic computer skills; understanding of the goods being procured; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; good interpersonal skills for working with various departments; excellent planning skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail; problem-solving skills; flexible scheduling. Knowledge of construction and or diesel-powered equipment preferred. Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently. Physically able to climb stairs routinely. Pass Bigge’s forklift training.
