  • Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner

  • Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance

  • Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour

  • Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment

  • Grades and returns student work in a timely manner

  • Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course

Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the courseDesigns curriculum and a schedule of instructionMaintains regular office hoursStays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroomUses assessment techniques to improve student learning outcomes and teaching methodsServes on college or department committees as neededAttends professional development opportunities when possibleAssists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabusMaintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate Participates in graduation exercisesPromotes continuous improvement by completing an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or a group basisQualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office products including MS Word and ExcelAbility to demonstrate creativity and innovation in the classroomAbility to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with othersAbility to maintain accurate records, consistently meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervisionStrong organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skillsRequirements: Requires a Master’s degree in Biology OR a Master’s degree in a related field with 18 graduate semester hours in BiologyUnofficial transcripts must be attached with your online application prior to submission or submitted to Human Resources immediately upon completing the application.
