  • The pay for this position is $35.00 per hour
  • Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
  • A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

Industrial Automation Technician Highlights

  • This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
  • The required availability for this position is A Shift — Monday through Thursday, 5:45am — 6:00pm

Industrial Automation Technician Responsibilities

  • Perform setup, operation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on highly automated manufacturing equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Troubleshoot electrical circuits up to 480 VAC
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Support production goals related to quality, downtime, and waste reduction
  • Maintain equipment uptime, safety, and reliability
  • Utilize sound judgment to troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, production, and maintenance teams

Industrial Automation Technician Requirements

  • Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting experience
  • Ability to read and interpret complex automated system drawings and schematics
  • Experience using multimeters, sensors, motors, gearboxes, belts, and chain drives
  • Proficiency using a PC including MS Excel and MS Word
  • Strong communication, time management, and teamwork skills
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days

Industrial Automation Technician Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, servos, ladder logic, and industrial control systems
  • Exposure to robotics and vision systems
  • Mechanical design experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
  • Experience with SAP maintenance modules or CMMS
  • Basic machining or welding skills (mill, lathe, welding, bearing press)
