The Town of Snowmass Village is looking to hire an Ice Rink Maintenance worker to join our Parks, Recreation and Trails team!

Hiring range: $24.01 – $27.62 an hour

We are looking for a Recreation Facility Assistant that will perform specialized clerical support and customer service duties as needed to receive and admit patrons to the recreation center; act as cashier, guest service agent, perform registration and general public relations duties, answer phone and visitor inquiries, and perform general administrative duties.

Some of the day-to-day duties are listed below:

• Opens and closes facilities according to the rink policy.
• Performs ice resurfacing operation: operates Zamboni and ice edger; records ice measurements; flooding, patching, building, and repairing ice as required.
• Maintains a clean and safe facility.
• Ensures that all entrances are clear and safe of debris and snow.
• Performs general maintenance tasks including preventative maintenance.
• Enforces all rules and policies as established by the department for rink patrons.
• Shovels snow to building entrance and cleans skating rink surfaces of snow, as required.
• Monitors ice and patches holes and large cracks.
• Participates in all staff training and meetings.
• Performs a periodic walkthrough of the entire facility with the intent of observing, and if possible, correcting any real-time needs regarding cleanliness and maintenance.
• Observes patron activities; enforces rules; performs any first aid as needed to assist individuals suffering injuries.

The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

• Previous experience working with ice, or maintenance in outdoor winter environments.

• Interest in the field of parks, trails and/or recreation.
