Position Housekeeping Aide Competition 2026 073 Current Opportunity Status Part time Department Environmental Services Union Association CUPE Salary 2686 2728hour Hours 0900 17001500 23002300 07000700 1500 weekdays and weekends may include holidays subject to change based on operational needs Position Summary Responsible for maintaining assigned patient or nonpatient care area of the Hospital in a clean and sanitary condition in accordance with established cleaning protocols and infection control guidelines Responsible for cleaning project work garbage collection furniture moving and room set up as required Requirements Education and Experience Demonstrated ability to read understand and follow written instructions; to perform basic arithmetic calculations to determine appropriate proportions for mixing cleaning products and solutions; and the ability to prepare routine written reports normally acquired through the completion of a secondary school graduation diploma and a minimum of 1 one year experience or equivalentAbility to relate in a tactful and sensitive manner with staff patients volunteers and visitorsPreference will be given to those individuals who have had related cleaninghousekeeping experience and have successfully worked as a member of a workplace teamAbility to operate and use cleaning equipment such as Autoscrubber scrubber vacuum floor polishers steam cleanerKnowledge Skills and Responsibilities Work requires demonstrated time management and organizational skills to complete assigned tasks and carry out work routines with limited direct supervisionEssential duties of the position requires prolonged periods of walking standing bending lifting pushing pulling and lifting to 50 pounds climbing bending and reachingWork requires knowledge of cleaning products methods and techniquesAbility to work independently andor as a member of a teamFlexibility to modify routines as required to manage changing prioritiesAbility to successfully complete WHIMIS product and equipment handling safety programs as a condition of employment Wear protective aids when required by Health and Safety to perform the jobResponsible for furniture moving room set up if required and the collection of garbage waste and soiled linenParticipate in cycle cleaning project work such as window washing floor stripping etcGood attendance and availability
