Project Executive — Heavy Civil Infrastructure

An established heavy civil contractor is hiring a Project Executive to lead major public infrastructure work and guide multiple project teams. This is a senior leadership position suited for someone who enjoys running the business side of construction as much as the operations — overseeing performance, strengthening client partnerships, and helping projects succeed long before and long after the field work begins.

You will provide high-level direction to Project Managers and Engineers while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and at planned margins. The role oversees financial performance, forecasting, billing, change orders, and cost control across a portfolio of active jobs. You will also help resolve complex field, contractual, and agency issues and implement recovery strategies when schedules or budgets are at risk.

Working directly with owners and public agencies, you will build long-term relationships, manage negotiations, and help secure repeat work. Internally, you will coach and develop project leadership staff, support hiring decisions, and help prepare the next generation of PMs and senior leaders.

You will champion safety programs, quality standards, and operational improvements while contributing to estimating strategy and business development initiatives.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in heavy civil general contracting
• Experience with large public agency infrastructure projects
• Leadership on large-scale projects ($75M+ preferred)
• Strong financial, forecasting, and contract management skills
• Knowledge of utilities, sewer, watermain, and site construction
• OSHA 30 certification
