The BNSF Railway Finance Department provides innovative strategic solutions and world-class financial services to support BNSF’s overall performance. Within the Finance Department, several specialized departments contribute to its overall mission: Controller, Revenue Management, Strategic Sourcing, Tax, Treasury, and Strategic Studies. Each department is vital in managing BNSF’s financial health and strategic financial planning. These departments work collaboratively to secure BNSF’s economic stability and support its growth and innovation within the railway industry.

Key responsibilities may include:
This position will support the Fuel supply functions through analysis, process and system management, and accounts payable support. Serves as one of three main accounts payable contacts for vendors supplying locomotive diesel fuel and transportation services. This position is also responsible for performing monthly book to physical inventory reconciliations of fuel warehouses, ensures compliance with ongoing control processes, and provides support for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
Managesvendor pricing agreements and ensures accurate and timely payment of high-volume fuel invoices which include analyzing and resolving price, tax, and quantity disputes with invoices.
Perform and present the monthly Close and Forecast schedules for Fuel Expense.
Helpsmaintain and monitor various Fuel Department back-office systems.
Analyzes fueling activity and provides reporting and other support for the Fuel Management team as well as other internal BNSF and external entities.
This position will actively participate on cross-functional teams to identify and execute Strategic Sourcing Initiatives for complex commodities and sourcing projects. The position must also provide recommendations on savings opportunities (by modeling economic scenarios for areas of spend), advise on the selection of suppliers, facilitate market research and internal data collection, and analyze supplier technology and supply markets. This role is an individual contributor role.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Able to work in the US without company sponsorship now AND in the future.
- 3 years of experience in finance or accounting, IT, sourcing, or railroad related field which includes leading projects.
PREFERRED QUALITIFICATIONS:
- CPA license
- Previous work experience in Accounting or Audit Services
- Demonstrated experience interfacing with customers or suppliers and providing high levels of service
- Data mining experience with SAP, Business Objects (BOBJ), Data Warehouse (DW) or Business Warehouse (BW), and SQL. Other systems frequently used in this position include FuelQuest/Veeder-Root Systems and Fuel Flow Network used specifically for Fuel. Knowledge of other systems is not required.
