Position Summary
Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies Located on the downtown Orlando campus, Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies opened in 2006, providing programs and services focused on the unique needs of women and newborns. Specialized care covers all facets of women’s health, from comprehensive gynecological services and minimally invasive surgeries to obstetrics and high-risk pregnancies and births. The hospital is “Magnet” recognized for nursing excellence and high-quality patient care and is certified in perinatal care by The Joint Commission. Welcoming nearly 14,000 babies each year, the hospital’s 350 beds include 142 neonatal intensive care beds, making it one of the largest neonatal intensive care units under one roof in the country. As a sister hospital with Orlando Health Arnold Palmer for Children, the hospital was included in the 2021-22 “Best Children’s Hospitals” rankings by U.S. News & World Report , recognized for expertise in Neonatology, and, together with Orlando Health ORMC, was included in the IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals® list for 2021
Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women’s and babies Food and Nutrition Department is seeking a Group Leader, Storeroom. The Group Leader, Storeroom is responsible for maintaining sanitation and safety standards in storeroom. Ensures accuracy and timely delivery of floor stocks.
Accurately checks in all incoming orders and assists in putting away orders according to FIFO standards. Maintains awareness of changes on both vending routes. Assumes purchasing responsibilities when Purchasing Co-coordinator is not available. Schedule and training of storeroom staff. Provides highest quality of service to our customers.
Responsibilities Essential Functions Keeps work area clean and uncluttered.
Ensures that no materials are on floor.
The freezer and cooler floors must be swept daily.
All items not in master cases must be dated.
Ensures that gloves are worn when handling materials such as plastic ware, cookie dough, etc.
Ensures all equipment is kept clean and in good working condition.
Checks incoming item quantities against invoices. Alerts supervision to any discrepancies.
Checks completed invoice against what was actually ordered and, again, alerts supervision to any discrepancies.
Oversees and participates in recording of weekly inventory.
In absence of supervisor, records inventory figures in computer and gives information to Controller.
Maintains temperature logs of cooler and freezer.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions Participates in monthly safety meeting and report back to storeroom personnel.
Assists buyer in inventory and replacement of coffee machines throughout hospital system.
Keeps current of all changes in vending routes in case of absences with vending personnel.
Works with customers, employees and patients to ensure satisfaction in such areas as quality, service and problem resolution.
Maintains a good working relationship with co-corkers and management.
Assists Supervisor with scheduling hours and reducing overtime.
Performs any and all other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications Education/Training High School graduate or equivalent required.
Licensure/Certification None.
ExperienceThree (3) years previous food service experience.
