About The Role The Center for Prevention and Health Promotion at UW-Stevens Point is seeking a dedicated and creative Graphic Designer to support its mission of preventing alcohol and other drug abuse (AODA), interpersonal violence (IPV), and promoting mental health and wellbeing. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating visually compelling print materials that effectively communicate the center’s initiatives and educational messages. Reporting to the Programs and Promotions Specialist, the successful candidate will play a vital role in designing, developing, and producing print media that aligns with current trends in graphic design and marketing. This part-time position requires a commitment of 6-8 hours per week, with flexibility for evening and weekend hours as needed, and can be performed remotely. The role offers an excellent opportunity for students with a passion for design to contribute to meaningful health promotion efforts within the university community.
Qualifications
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- A high degree of personal judgment and decision-making ability
- Attention to detail in all aspects of design and production
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, or similar content management platforms
- Knowledge of printing processes and preparing projects for print production
- Ability to commit to 6-8 hours per week during the academic year and some summer breaks
- Must be a part-time student at UW-Stevens Point with at least two semesters remaining
- Ability to work remotely if needed
Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, design, and produce various print materials for the Center for Prevention and Health Promotion
- Stay informed about current trends in graphic design to ensure modern and effective visuals
- Serve as a resource for design and marketing of educational and promotional materials
- Edit, proofread, and revise written content to ensure clarity and accuracy
- Coordinate with printing vendors and prepare materials for production
- Manage a flexible work schedule of 6-8 hours weekly, including occasional evening and weekend hours for project completion
- Collaborate with team members to ensure visual consistency and alignment with project goals
- Maintain organized files and documentation of all design projects
