Description and FunctionsOpen Until FilledGENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments (OSLI) is seeking a Geospatial Technology Analyst in Cheyenne, Wyoming. OSLI manages the approximately four million acres of state trust land spread throughout Wyoming – lands held in trust by the State to produce revenue to support public education and other designated beneficiaries. The Geospatial Technology Analyst contributes to the development and distribution of geographic and land management data, assists in developing and maintaining mapping resources, and provides technical support for various agency systems.Working for the State of Wyoming offers more than a paycheck. , or Human Resource Contact: Ryan Scheer / / 307-777-8570ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.Analyzes, creates, updates, maintains, interprets, maps, provides technical assistance and user support for, etc., the geographic data used by many employees to do their jobs more efficientlyMaintain GIS layers within an enterprise GIS environment and conduct analyses of GIS data that support management decisionsCreate data for new leases and land ownership as information is provided to the GIS teamIdentify new leases and ownership in the land management systems that need to be added to GISPerform regular and routine analysis and quality assurance/quality control on new and existing data to ensure correct and accurate informationIdentify data issues and make recommendations to correct issuesMaintain and support online mapping resourcesAssist in various data entry or data cleanup projectsQualifications PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:Preference may be given to applicants with experience in GIS, Data Management, or related fields.KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other geospatial technologies.Knowledge of GIS terms and definitions.Knowledge of real estate terms, the ability to read maps, plats, legal descriptions, legal documents, and metes and bounds.Knowledge of land surveying and land systems.Knowledge of cartographic design fundamentals.Knowledge of data management concepts and best practices.Knowledge of basic web design and graphic design.Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and SQL.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s Degree (typically in GIS or Data Management or a related field)Experience: 0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in GIS or Data Management or related field) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Map Editor.OREducation & Experience Substitution:3-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in GIS or Data Management or related field) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Map Editor.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: NoneNecessary Special Requirements PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
