About the Role

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer who’s passionate about building scalable, resilient systems and wants to play a key role in developing the Mindworks enterprise platform. You’ll work closely with our engineering and product teams to architect, build, and deploy backend services that power our next-generation cloud platform.

What You’ll Do

  • Build robust backend systems using Node.js and TypeScript
  • Design and implement scalable APIs and microservices
  • Model relational data and write performant queries (MySQL/Postgres)
  • Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform
  • Containerize applications with Docker
  • Leverage AWS services to build cloud-native solutions
  • Contribute across the full development lifecycle—from design to deployment
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver high-quality features
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience
  • 3+ years with Node.js
  • 2+ years with TypeScript
  • Experience with relational databases (MySQL or Postgres)
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and a collaborative mindset
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to commute to our Pittsburgh (Bridgeville), PA office

Bonus Points

  • Experience building enterprise or B2B SaaS products
  • Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code experience
  • Docker or other containerization tools
