Frontend Developer

We’re hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!

The Role

• Build, maintain, and evolve a cross-platform design system, including React and web components with composable APIs.

• Manage design token architecture, bridging design tools and code to ensure visual consistency.

• Develop and utilize AI-powered tooling and internal systems to accelerate product development and make the design system machine-readable.

• Create comprehensive documentation, interactive playgrounds, and component showcases to facilitate adoption.

• Champion accessibility standards (WCAG compliance) and infrastructure, including automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.

• Collaborate closely with product designers to translate design intent into engineering implementation.

What You’ll Need

• Deep expertise in TypeScript and React, with experience in advanced patterns.

• A strong systems thinking approach, with the ability to design for reuse and anticipate cascading impacts.

• Familiarity with design token tooling and workflows, connecting design to code.

• A solid understanding of WCAG and experience with accessibility testing.

• Fluency in AI-assisted development and a desire to explore the intersection of design systems and AI.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
